Timeflies - One Night

With One Night, Timeflies officially introduce their unique brand of cute pop EDM to the masses, or maybe it is Usher- esque club music for the Camp Rock set. Whatever it is - or "whatevs" - the title track kicks off a bright, infectious EP's worth of fun. meets Flo Rida, where everything is effervescent, slick, and hip-hop aware. "Swoon" is a swaggering "I wanna make ya..." number that would seem icky if brought into the bedroom, but this is the world of crushes and pop stars, so save the lust and passion. Seems strange to be thrusting your hips so hard with everything being PG, and not even PG-13, but dig their viral hit cover version of The Little Mermaid's "Under the Sea" - a big earful of Disney and Deadmau5 - and One Night is a significant step forward, sounding like Swedish House Mafia remixing Owl City and it's all happening on tonight's episode of Glee.
