  • Rilo Kiley revealed details for their long-in-the-works archival album today, scheduling the 16-track set for release on April 2nd via Pierre de Reeder’s own indie label, Little Record Company. The album, RKives, features 9 previously unreleased songs along with demos, B-sides, and other rarities from the band’s decade together. Pre-order options are available here and the tracklist is below.

    In other news, frontwoman Jenny Lewis is now 3 songs short of completing her next solo LP with an original soundtrack to Very Good Girls on the way, as well. Last summer, we heard Lewis and the Watson Twins debut one of her new songs live in an update on both projects. The solo set is expected to arrive later in 2013 or early next year, pending her plan to finish the record between upcoming tour dates performing with The Postal Service.

  • Last soulman standing Charles Bradley drops a video for his newest single “Strictly Reserved For You.” If you haven’t heard the tune, I envy your first listen but I’ll just quote myself to give you an idea: “with it’s amazing horn-work, fuzzy guitar tones and a bassline for the ages, “Strictly” walks more in the footsteps of Dennis Coffey‘s most sophisticated sonic struts than we’ve heard before, a subtle contrast from other recent outings, which have leaned more towards a classic Memphis soul sound.” Serious or frivolous, every video has a subliminal message in it somewhere and I would translate this one into words as: “you may have the empty diner/endless refill blues but it’s nothing that throwing on an orange Evil Knievel jumpsuit and zebra-striped loafers can’t cure.”

  • Sempiternal is the upcoming fourth studio album by British metalcore band Bring Me the Horizon. It is planned to be released on 1 April 2013 worldwide through the Sony Music Entertainment subsidiary label, RCA and 2 April though Epitaph Records in the United States and Canada. Written and recorded throughout 2012, Sempiternal showed the band pool diverse influences from electronic music, ambient music and pop. "Sempiternal" is an archaic English word denoting the concept of "everlasting time" that can never actually come to pass. It stems from the Latin word "sempiternus" (a concatenation of root "semper" and suffix "aeternum"). The album's cover art is a depiction of the Flower of Life. It is the first album to feature keyboardist Jordan Fish and was believed to be the last album to feature guitarist Jona Weinhofen. However, Weinhofen's role within the album's development has been faced with controversy.
